These fourth grade Warren Elementary students, known as the Warren Warriors Recycling Club, implemented a school-wide Recycling Challenge for the months of March and April. The recycling challenge was designed to be a fun way to educate and promote recycling while stimulating friendly competition and motivating students to do what they can, to make a positive impact on their community and their environment. They organized fund-raising events to purchase recycle bins for every classroom and office. The club is in its second year and working to recruit their replacements as they advance to middle school. They plan to start a club at WMS next year. Club members were supervised by Mrs. Stabler. These students were presented certificates at the May 22, 2018, Board of Education Regular Meeting.
The Warren Warriors Recycling Club would like to offer special thanks to:
- Kraton Polymers - Plant Environmental Awareness Team (P.E.A.T.) for fully funding the challenge by providing funds for supplies, scales, T-shirts, and a pizza party.
- Jeff and Denise Wasson for their help and support.
