CORAS 2018 Outstanding Teacher Award Winner

At the January meeting in Zanesville, the Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools (CORAS) recognized teachers across the Appalachian region of Ohio. Ashley Skinner, Little Hocking Elementary School teacher, was among the recipients of the 2018 Outstanding Teacher Award.

Ashley was nominated by Kyle Newton, Warren Local School District Superintendent. “Ashley is one of the most caring and understanding teachers educating both students and colleagues. She is a professional educator that exhibits all qualities that we want in a teacher.”

Warren Local Schools received notification of Ashley’s honor from Dr. Richard Murray, Executive Director, CORAS. The letter stated, “Teachers inspire dreams, shape lives and give us hope for the future. Ashley Skinner has distinguished herself as a professional who gives of her time and talent to support and educate the students of Warren Local Schools.” “The Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools (CORAS), has a 28-year tradition of advocating and supporting public schools in our region. Recognizing outstanding teachers in our member districts is one of the many ways we hope to continue the tradition.”
