Vincent - “We didn’t figure out their matchups until way late,” Maddox said. We were just out of sync tonight and didn’t hit much — and they (Colts) hit a lot of shots. We played a good team and we didn’t play well.”

Scooter Tolzda-coached Meadowbrook (3-1) was paced by Zach Rusnak’s 14 points, which included four triples. Davis Black and Jon McCall each chipped in with 12 markers, while Addy Black netted 10.

Neither school shot particularly well in the opening period with Meadowbrook making three field goals and Warren just one. At the end of the first eight minutes of play, the Colts clung to a 9-4 lead.

In the second quarter, the 5-10 Rusnak scored 11 points and 6-5 Davis Black added eight as MHS stretched its lead to 29-17 at halftime. After going scoreless in the first, Dennis tallied eight points in the second to keep the Warriors in the hunt.

But in the third quarter, Warren couldn’t buy a bucket until Kurt Taylor drained a triple in the closing minute. Meanwhile, Meadowbrook’s Addy Black and McCall scored six points apiece as the Colts’ lead bulged to 47-21.
